I dropped off my Sony KV-40XBR800 TV to them on 11/17/2008 and still don't have it back yet - 1/5/2009. They quoted me a part that needs replacing, the d-board at $749.00 plus tax and shipping which I found on the internet, at the manufacturer, for $179.00 (yes they want to make $600 on the part alone and then charge me for installation). I stopped by the shop to verify the price and showed them the factory part I had with me. They were hesitant to put it in saying he could not give me the 90 day warranty he usually gives. The part comes with a year warranty from Sony. I have not been able to get a straight answer from them in almost 2 months. I was promised a call from them on 11/19/2008 and finally gave up and called them after 3 weeks to the tune of excuses only.
You will be aghast the moment you step into the house (business) based on the clutter. I bet they have several TVs that were misplaced in all the stuff strewn about.
They have completely messed up my new laptop. I wanted them to speed up the computer. He told new Windows 8 was the problem and to put Windows 7 on it. Since he is the professional, I agreed. He added a bunch of stuff that I don't use or even ask for. Now my computer barely runs, slower than the old dial ups, they told me to get it fixed I would have to pay again. Another reason I won't go back is the roach infestation. Roaches were crawling out of tv's, computers, and everywhere. Would not recommend to anyone.
I told them not to do anything to the TV and I will be there to pick it up. I brought the part and TV back to the house (the TV weighs about 300 lbs) and installed the d-board in about an hour…you guessed it, the TV works great. I am really disgusted with everything about this husband and wife team of rip off artists from the weeks of no contact to the expected $600.00 profit for ordering a part. I paid them $55.00 for an estimate when I dropped off the TV in November 2008 and will call it a $55 and 2 month learning experience.
I took my laptop here at the beginning of the year which was 01/05/11. All I needed was a repaired hinge for my laptop. They took my $35.00 for a service charge, but never provided the service. I am still waiting on the phone call for the part and today is 04/01/11 and this is NO april fools they have the worst service I have ever recieved in my life, and when the part comes in I will not be taking my computer there! They never called because apparently they never tried to get my part in. I am very frustered with this business, they have the worst customer service and inside I don't even know how they get around its so cluttered there are just tv's stacked upon each other. I do no recommened this place to anyone unless you plan on getting scammed. Worst place in Atoka, if something broke find somewhere better or you would even be better off fixing it yourself then being told different things all the time and never getting the communication needed!!!!!
STOP - do not go here for any repair.
Update 1/12/2009 - I finally got a call back from this so called company 4 days after I dropped of the $179.00 power board (d-board) I bought directly from Sony that Accutech wanted to charge me $749.00 plus tax and shipping for and was told that it was not the power board that was the problem but the video board (m-board). They said they never said anything about the d-board even though and I handed the d-board to the so called technician personally 4 days prior. So now I have his wife telling me on the phone that it is the wrong part and she never said it was the d-board. The m-board is available from Sony for $179.00 and guess what they wanted for it? Yo guessed it $749.00 plus tax and shipping.
